Step Up To Work Program

Supporting refugees and migrants in gaining skills and qualifications for workforce success.

This program helps clients engage with and participate in the community they now call home. Significant wrap around support is provided by CatholicCare to ensure the success for the trainee, and a positive experience for the employer.

This program includes:

  • Support to attain formal qualifications,
  • Weekly placement support meetings,
  • Additional tailored support and assistance to address any holistic settlement challenges.

Step Up To Work Program services

In our Step Up To Work program, trainees from CALD backgrounds complete workplace skills, transition to work or further vocational training, and gain confidence and pride in themselves and their work capabilities.

This has a flow-on effect to their families and communities. Focusing primarily on business administration skills, which concurrently improves their literacy, numeracy & digital literacy, the trainees are able to obtain the skills and competencies required by a broad cross-section of workplaces.
