One way we ensure the best people are attracted to and retained in the sector is to offer opportunities for people studying Psychology, Social Work, Mental Health and Social Services qualifications to get hands-on experience under the supervision of some of the best practitioners in Southwest Queensland.
CatholicCare will provide interesting and challenging learning opportunities for students through a structured Student Placement program.
Limited placements may be offered in the following areas:
Placements are conditional on a number of factors including placement vacancies at a given time, changing operational demands on the Agency and candidates’ suitability. CatholicCare receives many applications for student placements each year and competition for places is strong. Each candidate must make a formal application and attend an interview before being considered for a placement. Student placements will need to be verified with your tertiary institution (usually TAFE, University or registered training organisation).
To improve your chances of success, plan ahead. Submit your application early and provide as much supporting information as possible. Applications will be considered and placements offered at CatholicCare’s sole discretion.

We are honoured to be on the ancestral lands of the traditional custodians of this area, the Giabul, and Jarowair peoples. In keeping with CatholicCare’s spirit of reconciliation and respect, we understand that these groups have occupied and cared for this land over countless generations and we celebrate the continuing contribution of these communities to the life of this region. We also recognize and respect those emerging leaders who now claim Australia as their new home.
